In order to relieve customers from excessive costs, the National Cooperative customers’ Federation of India (NCCF) reported on Sunday that it sold 71,500 kg of tomatoes at a discounted price in the nation’s capital during the two-day mega sale that was organized before the Independence Day celebration.
According to a statement from the cooperative, the massive sale took place at 70 various venues, including Seelampur and R K Puram in Delhi.
36,500 kg of the 71,500 kg of tomatoes sold on August 12 and 35,000 kg on August 13 were tomatoes, it was revealed. The price of tomatoes was reduced to Rs 70 per kilogram.
To increase domestic supply and control costs, NCCF has been selling tomatoes at a reduced price on behalf of the Consumer Affairs Ministry since July 11. The mega sale was held, due to the Independence Day holiday.
The ministry said that as a result of the ongoing intervention, prices are “coming down” in practically every region of the nation.
