Nepali boy, 15, wounded in Odisha train crash reunited with his parents via live interview on TV

A 15-year-old Nepalese boy was wounded while traveling on the Coromandel Express, which caused hundreds of deaths. The boy, Ramananda Paswan, was reunited with his parents thanks to a live television interview broadcast from a hospital in Cuttack.

A Nepalese couple learned about their little kid who suffered injuries in the June 2 Odisha railway tragedy and receiving care in another hospital thanks to a live television interview that was broadcast from one hospital. Ramananda Paswan, 15, who was recovering in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Cuttack, noticed his parents watching a news broadcast on a television set in the room and informed the authorities.

After the boy’s parents arrived from Nepal in pursuit of him after learning about the tragedy that killed 288 lives, the hospital helped them reunite with their son, who was traveling on the tragic Coromandel Express, the official added. “I’m glad to have found my son. Three of our relatives were also on the trip with him. They were all killed in the collision. He luckily managed to escape with only minor wounds, according to the boy’s father Hari Paswan.

Hari and his wife visited one hospital after another in search of their kid after arriving in Bhubaneswar. They encountered a reporter from a local TV news program who covered their story when they were in AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.

When Ramananda saw the news program in his room on television, he recognized his parents. He let the hospital staff know about it. “The hospital phoned the TV channel’s office, obtained the footage, and had Ramananda validate the information about his parents. After that, Ramanada was successfully reunited with his parents thanks to the hospital staff, according to SCB Medical College emergency officer Dr. BN Moharana.

The hospital stated, “Emotional moment for us that a 15-year-old Nepalese boy Ramanand Paswan who was a victim of the Baleswar Train tragedy got his parents miraculously.”

At 7 p.m. on June 2, the Coromandel Express struck a stopped goods train, derailing the majority of its coaches. The final few coaches of the Bengaluru-Howrah Express, which was passing by at the same moment, were knocked over by a couple of them. Over 1,200 people were hurt, and 288 people died as a result of the tragedy.
