Subscribers to Disney+ Hotstar will no longer be able to watch HBO classics such as Game of Thrones and other programming. The OTT platform stated the same on Twitter earlier this month. It added salt to injury for users who were already irritated since the first episode of Succession was not available on the app.
While netizens wondered where they might get their fill of entertainment, they resorted to social media to voice their frustration. On Twitter, memes and posts bemoaning the defeat and expressing rage and disgust are trending. Some even requested a refund from the OTT platform after regretting paying for the one-year contract.
Amazon and HBO inked a partnership in December 2022 that allows people to subscribe to HBO Max with Amazon Prime. The service is expected to begin in India following the withdrawal of HBO content from Hotstar. In the United States, the plan for ad-free streaming costs $16 (Rs 1,314) per month. It should be mentioned that IPL 2023 will not be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar, but will be available in 4K quality for free on Jio Cinemas.
