For Nick Jonas, marriage is not just about romance or grand gestures—it is about the small, everyday actions that build trust. The singer and actor recently spoke about his relationship with Priyanka Chopra and what he believes truly defines a good husband, and his answer was rooted in responsibility, respect and the example he wants to set for their daughter.

Nick shared his thoughts during an appearance on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast on February 4, where he reflected on the age-old question of what makes a good husband. He explained that, for him, it comes down to being dependable and someone his partner can always trust.

He also spoke about how fatherhood has shaped his perspective. Nick said he is constantly aware that their daughter, Malti Marie, is watching how he treats her mother. He believes that the way he behaves at home will influence how she views relationships and what she expects from a partner in the future. Because of that, he feels a strong responsibility to make Priyanka feel safe, supported and happy, while also bringing joy and laughter into their everyday life.

Nick described life as full of ups and downs, saying that everything becomes easier when you have a partner you can truly rely on. For him, that sense of emotional security is at the heart of a strong marriage.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have been married since December 2018, and the couple recently completed over seven years together. Their cross-cultural love story began in 2016, when Nick first reached out to Priyanka through a direct message. What followed was a whirlwind romance that led to a grand, multi-day wedding celebration in India in December 2018.

In a recent conversation, Nick also recalled how he first noticed Priyanka through a billboard, a moment that eventually led to them meeting in person. Their journey later took a life-changing turn when they welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie, in January 2022 through surrogacy.

Nick shared that Malti arrived earlier than expected and weighed just 1 pound and 11 ounces at birth. He remembered how the medical team quickly stepped in to stabilise her and provide intensive care. Born during the COVID-19 pandemic, Malti spent three and a half months in the NICU, where she gradually gained strength. Nick and Priyanka spent long, 12-hour shifts at the hospital, supporting their daughter as she fought through those early challenges.

Looking back, Nick says those experiences strengthened his sense of responsibility as both a husband and a father. For him, being reliable, kind and emotionally present for Priyanka is not just about their relationship—it is also about shaping the kind of world their daughter will grow up in.
