After years spent honing his craft as an assistant director, Kussh S Sinha is set to make his directorial debut with the upcoming film Nikita Roy.
The movie, which stars his sister Sonakshi Sinha alongside Arjun Rampal and Paresh Rawal, is slated for a theatrical release on June 27, putting it in direct competition with Kajol’s film, Maa.
Recently, Kussh Sinha shared his enthusiasm and unique perspective as a first-time director in an interview with a leading publication, promising audiences a fresh and distinct cinematic experience. He also revealed that the box office clash with Maa doesn’t faze him in the slightest. “I am sure Maa is coming and that’s also a big film backed by Ajay Sir and starring Kajol ma’am. It’s got Vishal Furia, who is a great director in the horror genre,” he acknowledged.
Kussh went on to express his strong confidence in his film’s potential for success. “But no, we are very clear that our film will work on its merit. We are not competing with Maa because that film is again in a different space. It shows a more horror aspect right from the start. Ours is a different genre. It’s a supernatural mystery, but I wouldn’t call it horror,” he added, emphasizing the distinct nature of Nikita Roy.
