Not Any Big-Budget Movie But This Malayalam Film Is India’s Entry For 2024 Oscars

Winning an Oscars is certainly a big achievement for any artist whether he is a director, actor, musician, singer, etc. but very few get lucky as there is a huge competition and many can’t even make it to the nomination list.

Fortunately last year, India won two Oscars – Oscars in Best Original Song category for the song Naatu Naatu from the movie RRR which was directed by SS Rajamouli and the second one was in the Best Documentary category (Short film) for The Elephant Whisperers.

The Malayalam movie, 2018 or 2018: Everyone is a Hero will be the official entry from India in the Oscars 2024. The film has been directed by Jude Anthany Joseph and it stars Tovino Thomas, Tanvi Ram, Aparna Balamurali, Kalaiyarasan, Asif Ali, etc. in important roles. It is based on the 2018 Kerala floods and how people of Kerala survived this natural calamity.

The 96th Oscars ceremony will take place on 10 March 2024 at Dolby Theatre, Ovation Hollywood which is in Los Angeles.

Hopefully, 2018 will make it into the nomination list and win the Oscars.

All the best!
