Nothing has officially released the first Open Beta of its Nothing OS 3.0 upgrade for the Phone (2a) Plus, enabling users worldwide to test new features before the complete release later this month. Based on Android 15, the update includes several visual and functional improvements to improve the overall user experience.
According to the Nothing blog post, one of the most notable aspects of the Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta 1 is the improved home and lock screen customization. Users can customize the lock screen by long-pressing it, allowing them to personalize their smartphones with new clock faces, fonts, and layouts. The clock widget has also been modified with a new design to complement the Phone’s appearance.
Furthermore, the new auto-archive feature helps users manage their storage by freeing up space without removing programs.
Other significant features include partial screen sharing, secure screen recording, and an updated setup wizard. New animations for fingerprint recognition and charging follow Nothing’s characteristic dot matrix style. Quick settings have been redesigned to provide excellent utility, and predictive back animations improve app navigation.
According to the Nothing blog article, Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta 1 is now available for download, and users are invited to submit comments before the final release.
