On January 27, the British consumer electronics company Nothing is scheduled to make a statement, most likely confirming the release of its first smartphone in 2025. “1 day until announcement” was written alongside a picture on January 26 on Nothing on X (previously Twitter). The new announcement might be connected to an upcoming smartphone, as the teaser image features a design similar to the home screen widgets on Nothing devices.
CEO Carl Pei responded to the tweet by stating that it will probably be an “announcement for an announcement.” This could indicate that the firm will reveal information regarding a Nothing Phone that is expected to be released on January 27 but that the launch date is still set for a later date.
What to Expect from Nothing’s New Smartphone
A couple of teaser pictures that appeared to showcase the rear panel design of an impending smartphone were previously posted by Nothing. The photos show a crude drawing of a transparent back panel that shows some of the internal parts. It is challenging to ascertain whether the device will use Nothing’s recognizable Glyph light interface because the design only provides a partial perspective.
The flagship Nothing Phone 3 is expected to debut later this year, but the company has already stated that it will launch in 2025. The Nothing Phone 2a and Phone 2a Plus have been detected on the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification platform with the codenames “A059” and “A059P.” It is also said that Nothing is developing successors to these phones.
According to Android Authority, Nothing CEO Carl Pei highlighted a “landmark smartphone launch” in an internal email that reportedly included a fourth Nothing smartphone. According to the email, this device is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2025.
