A man filed a police case against his wife, named Gitanjali Datta. The man was furious as she had faked his death in the Odisha train tragedy.
A man on Wednesday lodged a police case at Maniabandha police station in Cuttack district, after his wife attempted to “fake” his death in the Odisha train accident. The woman was named Gitanjali Datta of Maniabanda in the Cuttack district. According to police sources, she has hidden herself out of fear of being arrested.
The state administration and Indian Railways announced financial compensation after learning the wife had faked her husband’s death.
Gitanjali Datta allegedly stated that her husband Bijay Datta had passed away in the Odisha train accident on June 2. She had even recognized a corpse as his body. However, it was determined that her allegation was incorrect after papers were verified. The cops warned her before letting her leave.
