Pak Cricket Facing Crisis Again, Shaheen Afridi Not Happy With PCB Making Fake Statements

The Pakistani cricket team is once again going through a crisis as Babar Azam has been appointed as the new skipper of Pakistan’s T20 team just two months before the T20 World Cup which is going to be played in West Indies and USA.

The Pakistan Cricket Board was not happy with Shaheen Afridi’s performance as a skipper and in PSL also, his team Lahore Qalandars performed poorly and came last in the tournament.

Babar Azam was removed from captaincy after the Pak team failed to enter the knock-out stage of the ODI World Cup 2023 which was played in India but after the team continued poor performance under Shaheen Afridi, PCB decided to have a word with Babar Azam for taking up captaincy again.

Shaheen Afridi was not happy with the manner in which things have turned out as he was not told about PCB thinking of changing the captain and now he is angrier after PCB issued a fake statement by his name. The statement issued by PCB quoted Shaheen saying, “I will always cherish the memories and the opportunity. As a team player, it is my duty to back our captain, Babar Azam. I have played under his captaincy and have nothing but respect for him. I will try to help him on and off the field. We are all one. Our aim is the same, to help Pakistan become the best team in the world.”

As per the reports, the PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi will be meeting Shaheen Afridi to pacify him.

Though Shan Masood has retained the test captaincy, no announcement has been made regarding the ODI captain.
