After captivating audiences with three heartwarming and humorous seasons, Panchayat has cemented its place as a fan-favourite in the world of Indian web series. As the show marks its fifth anniversary, the creators have delivered a surprise announcement that has left fans buzzing with excitement.
On April 3, Prime Video unveiled a quirky, meme-laden promotional video on Instagram, revealing that Season 4 will premiere this year. The video, crafted in collaboration with popular social media influencers like Bhupendra Jogi and Darshan Magdum, delivered a humorous spin on the show’s cultural impact and internet virality.
In a delightful cameo, actress Gia Manek, famously known as Gopi Bahu from Saath Nibhana Saathiya, was shown washing books while playfully accusing Panchayat of hijacking meme culture. Reacting to the popular catchphrase “Ek-ek chai hojaaye (Shall we have tea together?)”, she quipped, “It’s just a sentence.”
The skit then shifted to Jitendra Kumar, who cleverly toggled between his Panchayat character Abhishek and Kota Factory’s Jeetu Bhaiya. Breaking the fourth wall, he addressed the internet’s obsession with viral content: “Internet wants a meme that goes viral all over the world. Don’t run after being viral, create a moment.” In a surprise reveal, he announced, “Panchayat has turned five now; where do you see yourself in five years?” and confirmed that Season 4 is arriving this year.
Gia cheekily asked, “If it’s coming this year, then can we drink green tea while sitting on a tank?” but Jitendra dodged the question and ran away—leaving fans laughing and speculating.
