Just as Fawad Khan was preparing for his highly anticipated return to Bollywood with the film Abir Gulaal, a terror attack in Pahalgam provoked nationwide outrage in India, leading to a renewed clampdown on Pakistani talent in the entertainment industry.
The film, which also stars Vaani Kapoor, is now caught in the crossfire of political and cultural tensions, with government sources indicating that its release in India might be halted.
This development has sparked reactions across the Bollywood fraternity, with several actors expressing solidarity with their nation. Among them, Pankaj Tripathi has recently shared his perspective on the issue.
During a media interaction, when questioned about whether Pakistani actors should be permitted to work in India, the Stree 2 actor admitted he was unaware of Fawad Khan’s comeback project. He emphasized that such matters should be handled by the appropriate authorities.
“I think I am not the authority to decide anything. Authorities must decide, we have a board for it. They must make a decision,” he said, underscoring the need for institutional judgment rather than personal opinion in politically sensitive scenarios.
