Shah Rukh Khan, the ever-charismatic icon of Bollywood, made his much-awaited debut at the Met Gala 2025 on May 5, stepping into the spotlight at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Donning a sleek black suit paired with bold statement jewellery designed by Sabyasachi, he effortlessly captivated onlookers and left fans in awe with his poised and stylish appearance.
In a candid interview following the event, Shah Rukh Khan reflected on the significance of his attendance. More than a fashion moment, he viewed it as an opportunity to represent his nation on a global platform. “It’s important to represent my countrymen and people. India is taking a stand in a lot of things and it’s important to have our presence felt,” he shared, underscoring the deeper meaning behind his participation.
He also expressed his appreciation for this year’s Met Gala theme, ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’, commending its message and aesthetic. “I liked what it stood for—the concept of revolution and resolution, not through anger or fighting, but by being exuberant and artistic. Dressing up in a way that made a statement,” Khan explained, echoing the event’s celebration of identity and cultural expression through fashion.
