Paras Mhambrey Explains Why Arshdeep Singh’s Chances of Playing Tests in India Are Difficult

The young Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh has certainly made the country proud as he played an important role in India’s win in the T20 World Cup 2024 as he took 17 wickets in 8 matches and created a lot of troubles for batters with his superb bowling.

After bowling well in the T20 World Cup 2024, Arshdeep Singh expressed his desire of playing test matches but the former Indian bowling coach Paras Mhambrey feels that everything will depend on conditions.

He added that Arshdeep may get a chance if India decides to go with four pacers in Australia but Arshdeep doesn’t seem to have any chance if India plays a test match in India. Paras Mhambrey said, “It depends on the conditions. Maybe in Australia, if we play four seamers, he has a chance. To get one in India will be very difficult at the moment.”

Paras Mhambrey feels that Arshdeep Singh needs to play first class cricket more. In his words, “I feel he just needs a little more game time in first-class cricket, just to get control over his swing and also know how to use reverse-swing, which will be very handy. He has the swing that works for him. It is about maintaining fitness and working on it. At the moment, he may not be a starter in Tests, but he isn’t far away.”

Arshdeep Singh will certainly play in test matches, what do you say?
