Actress Parineeti Chopra will be back in movies with Imtiaz Ali directed Amar Singh Chamkila which is slated to release on 12 April 2024. The movie is based on the life of Amar Singh Chamkila and Diljit Dosanjh has played the lead role while Parineeti has played his love interest and the music of the film has been composed by AR Rahman.
At the trailer launch event, Parineeti was seen dressed in a loose comfortable black Kaftan dress and soon her pregnancy rumours started floating on the Internet. Parineeti also reacted to these rumours by making a funny post on her Instagram stories, she wrote, “Kaftan dress= pregnancy, oversized shirt= pregnancy, comfy Indian kurta= pregnancy”.
At the trailer launch event, Imtiaz Ali said, “Parineeti said that she’s been waiting for 5 years to do a film, where she can sing. I said, ‘this is such a film’, she said, ‘I’m on [board]. I said ‘wow’. And then we started realising ‘Yaar iski shakal nahi milti Amarjot se, phir maine bola – bahut aasaan kaam hai, samose, malai, chaat yeh sab khaana shuru karo, since you have to gain some 10 kilo weight. No girl would have done it, no guy would have done it, for an actor to put on that much weight.”
