The Indian woman wrestler Vinesh Phogat may have announced her retirement from wrestling after getting disqualified in the Paris Olympics for being overweight by 100 gm but there are many who are asking her to reconsider her decision.
Now, a Japanese wrestler Rei Higuchi who took part in the 57 Kg freestyle category and won a gold medal for his country has asked Vinesh Phogat to reverse her decision. Rei Higuchi can understand the pain of Vinesh in the best manner because in the Tokyo Olympics, he was disqualified for being overweight by 50 gm but he bounced back strongly and won a gold medal this time.
Rei Higuchi tweeted, “I understand your pain the best. same 50g. Don’t worry about the voices around you. Life goes on. Rising from setbacks is the most beautiful thing. Take a good rest.”
