Paris Olympics: India Scripts History In Breaking But It Will Be Counted For Netherlands

The hopes of India winning a Gold medal got over after Neeraj Chopra came second in the Javelin throw event and won the silver medal but what if we tell you that India made history in breaking or break dancing?

It is not about winning any medal, this is the first time that break-dancing has been included in the Olympics and the athlete named India Sardjoe from Netherlands became the first breaker to register a win in the Olympics in Breaking.

Hopefully now you have understood that we are not talking about our country, we are talking about the Dutch breakdancer whose name is India Sardjoe who secured the first win in Breaking.

India Sardjoe, a Dutch breakdancer known as B-Girl India, made history at the 2024 Paris Olympics by winning the first-ever breakdancing battle in the Games’ history. This marked the debut of breakdancing, also known as “breaking,” at the Olympics. Sardjoe secured her place in the round-robin stage by defeating Manizha Talash, a member of the refugee team, in a one-off pre-qualifier match. Although she performed exceptionally well throughout the competition, winning all her group stage matches, she narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing in the fourth place after losing the bronze medal match to Liu Qingyi of China.

Sardjoe’s journey to the Olympics was remarkable. Born in The Hague in 2006, she transitioned from football to breaking at a young age and quickly rose to prominence. By 2022, she had already won the Dutch, European, and world championships, establishing herself as one of the top B-Girls in the world. Despite the pressure of the Olympic stage, she showcased her unique style and strategic approach to the sport, further solidifying her reputation in the global breaking community.
