The Australian cricket team has sealed the 3-match test series against Pakistan by 2-0 after winning the second test match which was played at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Though the Pakistani cricket team tried their best to win the match, still the Aussies managed to win the match by 79 runs and the Australian skipper Pat Cummins was adjudged as the Player of the Match as he took fifers in both the innings.
However after the match, Mohammad Hafeez, Pakistan’s Director of Cricket, made a statement which left many surprised. He said that though his team lost the match, it was his team which played better cricket.
Mohammad Hafeez said, “We played better cricket as a team. I’m proud of that. The way the team had the courage to attack this game in the best possible way. If I sum up the game, the Pakistan team played better than the other team in general.”
In the press conference, when Pat Cummins was told about this statement by Mohammad Hafeez, the Aussie skipper said, “Cool… [laughs]. Yeah, they played well. Glad we got the win.” When the reporter asked again about the statement, Pat Cummins responded with “Doesn’t really matter, does it? It’s the team that wins at the end.”
That was a good response, what do you say?
