Resham Tipnis’ Son Suicide rumours

Veteran actress Resham Tipnis has vehemently denied and condemned false information circulating on social media that incorrectly named her 14-year-old son, Manav, as the victim of a recent suicide in Mumbai’s Kandivali area. The actress, celebrated for her roles in films like Baazigar, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, Deewana Main Deewana, and Jai Ho, released a public statement on social media after her son’s name was erroneously linked to the tragic incident.

The suicide case involved a Class 9 student who reportedly took his own life following an argument with his mother about attending tuition classes. A Kandivali police official confirmed the details: “On Wednesday, the Class 9 student was asked by his mother to go for tuition but he was reluctant, which led to an argument. The boy left the house at 6pm, climbed down a couple of floors and then jumped to his death. His mother was alerted to the incident by a resident. We are ascertaining the exact floor from which he jumped off. No foul play is suspected as yet. An accidental death report has been registered and further probe is underway.”

Following the incident, several social media pages began circulating unverified information. One prominent Instagram page, Laughing Colours, inaccurately identified Manav as the deceased, prompting Resham Tipnis to directly address the issue.

“Please ignore this somebody is spreading fake news abt my son Manav he is fine and healthy by Bappa’s blessings but who ever has done this is going behind bars if anyone can help me finding them pls comment,” she wrote, clearly distressed by the fabrication.

Tipnis, who married actor Sanjeev Seth in 1993 when she was 20, has two children, Manav and Rishika. The couple divorced in 2004.
