PM Modi: Article 370 Biggest Obstacle to Jammu and Kashmir’s Development

Article 370, which gave Jammu and Kashmir special status and was repealed in 2019, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was the largest obstacle to the former state’s growth on Tuesday.

Additionally, PM Modi stated that Jammu and Kashmir, which is now a Union Territory, has experienced balanced growth in all sectors and in all regions since Article 370 was removed.

Speaking at a rally following the announcement of many projects totalling more than Rs 32,000 crore for Jammu and Kashmir and Rs 13,500 crore for other regions of the nation, he said that this was the first time the government has ever truly addressed the people in Jammu and Kashmir.

Modi has promised that this will go on, he declared. The prime minister said that the BJP administration had repealed Article 370, which was the primary obstacle to bringing about comprehensive development in Jammu and Kashmir.

“The wellbeing of the general public cannot be considered by a government whose top concern is the welfare of a single family. “I am glad to see that dynastic rule is ending in Jammu and Kashmir,” he remarked.

“A developed India means a developed Jammu and Kashmir,” he stated. After Article 370 was repealed, according to PM Modi, the people of Jammu and Kashmir were guaranteed social justice as stated in the Constitution for the first time. “There is a lot of enthusiasm in the whole world today about a developing Jammu and Kashmir,” he stated.

With reference to the projects he either launched or set the groundwork for, Prime Minister Modi declared that today was historic for Jammu and Kashmir. “The projects in Jammu and Kashmir will propel holistic development of the region,” he stated.

The Prime Minister said that in the last ten years, there has been an unprecedented growth in the number of schools, colleges, and universities in India, with 50 new degree colleges opening in Jammu & Kashmir alone.

PM Modi initiated or set the groundwork for a number of infrastructure projects in Jammu & Kashmir, including those pertaining to roads, trains, aviation, and education.

While IITs, IIMs, and central institutions are involved in initiatives for different regions of the nation. As part of the ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu’ (Developed India, Developed Jammu) campaign, PM Modi also met with beneficiaries of different schemes and gave appointment letters to over 1,500 recently hired government workers in Jammu and Kashmir.
