Telangana Police have registered a complaint against popular actor Nagarjuna following allegations by Kasireddy Bhaskara Reddy, President of the NGO Janam Kosam Manasakshi Foundation. Reddy claims that Nagarjuna illegally constructed the N Convention Centre on land worth hundreds of crores, which reportedly falls within the Full Tank Level (FTL) and buffer zone of Thammidikunta Lake. He further accused the actor of profiting from the encroached land for several years and demanded strong legal action, including Nagarjuna’s arrest for the alleged offenses.
Concerns about the possible encroachment of the convention center onto Thammidikunta Lake have been ongoing. On August 24, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HYDRAA) carried out a partial demolition of the N Convention Centre, escalating the dispute. In response, Nagarjuna quickly secured a stay order from the High Court, maintaining that the demolition was unlawful and asserting that the land was legally acquired.
In a statement posted on social media, Nagarjuna clarified, “I would like to reiterate that the land on which N-Convention was built is a patta documented land. Not even one cent of the land beyond that has been encroached upon.” He also referred to a 2014 judgment by the Special Court of Andhra Pradesh Land Grabbing (Prohibition) Act, which ruled that no encroachment had taken place in Thammidikunta Lake.
Nagarjuna has urged the public to refrain from speculating about the case, stating, “The formal argument is already presented in front of the esteemed High Court. I will abide by the law of the land and judgment. Until then, I sincerely request you not to indulge in speculation, any sort of rumors, misrepresentation of facts, and deviations.” The actor has yet to release an official statement regarding the latest police complaint, but his legal defense has focused on maintaining that the land is properly documented and not subject to encroachment.
