Bollywood actor Govinda was recently questioned by the Juhu Police regarding an incident where he accidentally shot himself. According to sources, Govinda explained to the authorities that while he was cleaning his revolver, which was unlocked, the gun misfired. The actor mentioned that the revolver was 20 years old. Initial police investigations suggest no foul play; however, authorities have expressed some doubts about Govinda’s account and may record his statement again soon.
In addition to questioning Govinda, the police also recorded a statement from his daughter, Tina Ahuja. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities looking into the circumstances surrounding the incident to clarify any uncertainties.
The incident occurred early Tuesday morning around 4:45 AM as Govinda was preparing to leave the city. While checking his revolver, the gun slipped from his hand, resulting in a bullet striking his leg. Govinda, who is also a prominent Shiv Sena leader, is currently recovering at a critical care hospital in Mumbai. His manager, Shashi Sinha, confirmed that the bullet was successfully removed, and the actor is in stable condition.
Following the accident, Govinda released a voice message to reassure his fans and the public. He expressed gratitude for their support and thanked the medical team, specifically mentioning Dr. Agarwal, for their care. Govinda’s message conveyed his appreciation for the well-wishes he received from his fans and loved ones.
Several Bollywood figures, including director David Dhawan and actor Shatrughan Sinha, have visited Govinda at the hospital to check on his recovery. The actor is expected to be discharged later this week.
