The actress Poonam Pandey who is mostly known for her hot and bold roles and dance numbers created a controversy some time back by announcing her fake death due to cervical cancer and later on, she justified her act by saying that because of her fake death, people started talking about the disease which needs more attention.
This stunt didn’t go well with many and they slammed the actress for stooping so low. All Indian Cine Workers Association also demanded an FIR against the actress and called her action unacceptable.
Now a Rs. 100 crore defamation case has been filed against Poonam Pandey and her husband Sam Bombay by Faizan Ansari as he feels that Poonam Pandey is responsible for “trivializing the seriousness of cancer and manipulating the emotions and trust of millions” by creating a drama of her own death.
In the FIR filed with the Police Commissioner, Kanpur, Ansari wrote, “Poonam Pandey and her husband Sam Bombay conspired to stage her death, making a mockery of a serious illness like cancer. Poonam Pandey orchestrated this stunt for her personal publicity, betraying the trust of millions of Indians and the entire Bollywood industry.”
Awareness and conversation about cervical cancer is necessary but such an act is not justifiable, what do you say?
