Everyone was left shocked in February when the news of Poonam Pandey’s death was made public, no one was able to believe that Poonam died due to cervical cancer because she looked fine in the photos and videos that emerged from parties which she attended a couple of days before her death.
Many people found it so difficult to believe that they called her death a publicity stunt of the actress-dancer.
However, later it was revealed that she was not dead, she did everything to spread awareness about cervical cancer. While many slammed her, Poonam tried to justify it by saying that people should understand the seriousness of cervical cancer and the pain that women have to go through because of it.
Recently she opened up on that phase and said, “I did it for a cause. Logon ko abhi tak akal nahi aayi hai. Aur unko yeh bhi samajh nahi aa raha ki aaj ki tareekh main, gaon khede main jo aurte hain na, unko cervical cancer ke baare main pata chal gaya hai. Toh my work is done but it was terrible for me. It was a disaster for me. I was like yaar koi toh samjho, but I don’t know how I have passed that phase.”
