The Indian cricket team may have posted a good total of 336/6 on the scoreboard by the end of the day 1 but all the credit for this goes to Yashasvi Jaiswal who is still unbeaten at the score of 179 runs and everyone is hoping to see him score his first double hundred.
The Indian batting seems to struggle against the England bowlers and the form of Shubman Gill is also a matter of concern for the team management. Before this test match, Shubman Gill has played 9 test matches in which he has played at number 3; he hasn’t scored a single fifty till now at number 3 and in these matches, he has scored only 189 runs.
The former Indian cricketer and former head coach of the Indian team, Ravi Shastri who is doing commentary in the second test match gave a little warning to Shubman Gill by saying, “It’s a fresh side, a young side. These youngsters have to prove themselves. Don’t forget, Pujara is waiting. He is grinding it out at the Ranji Trophy and is always in the radar. It’s a Test match; you’ve got to stay out there. Otherwise, you’ll get into all sorts of problems. You’re going with those hard hands, reaching out at the ball. Especially with someone of Anderson’s class.”
Will India level the series by winning the second test match? What do you think?
