Punjab Man Ate 40 Objects Like Magnets, Earphones & Zips, Got Operated

Usually people get operated because of tumours and stones but a unique and weird medical case has come to light in which doctors had to operate a person for taking out metallic things from his stomach.

The incident took place in Moga, Punjab, where a person named Kuldeep Singh was admitted into Moga Medical City Speciality Hospital as he had fever, he was vomiting and also had pain in stomach. Kuldeep’s family members told the doctors that he had been suffering from stomach pain for 2 years but he informed them about it recently.

When the doctors carried out an X-ray, they were shocked to find out that there were around 40 foreign objects inside his stomach. He had consumed magnets as well which had pulled other metallic objects towards them and as a result, a lump was formed inside his stomach and his intestines were also blocked.

The man was said to be mentally disturbed and his family members said that he had eaten these things when he was not in a right mental state. Kuldeep Singh was operated by gastroenterologist Dr. Vishavnoor Kalra and surgeon Anup Handa and many metallic objects including zips, earphones, shirt buttons, safety pins, etc. were pulled out of his stomach.

After the operation, doctors said, “Pica is an eating disorder where a person consumes items that are not typically thought of as food. He had eaten sharp items, which is why his stomach was severely lacerated. He is still on a ventilator and is critical, despite the fact that the procedure was successful.”

Let’s pray that he recovers and gets well soon.
