The Indian cricket team is gearing up for the 5-match test series against England and India would like to take the maximum advantage of this series as far as the World Test Championship is concerned as it will be played in India and the Indian team will surely get the benefit of playing on turning tracks.
Ravichandran Ashwin will be playing an important role in this series as he will be leading the Indian spin attack which will also have Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel. Recently, R Ashwin won the Dilip Sardesai Award and also the Best International Cricketer of the Year (2020-21) for the 2nd time in his cricket career at the BCCI Awards 2024.
During the event, R Ashwin opened up on the England series and their Bazball approach which is all about being aggressive and fearless. He said that he is impressed with England’s approach and he is excited about it. Ashwin said, “Bazball excites me. This kind of cricket impresses me. The fearless approach is good, and I am standing here knowing what to expect.”
R Ashwin has played 95 test matches in his career and with this series, he can touch the 100 mark if he plays all the test matches and he is just 10 wickets away from touching the 500-wicket mark. Anil Kumble is the only Indian bowler who has crossed the 500 wicket mark till now.
The first test match between India and England starts tomorrow at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
