Rainfall Alert! IMD Issues Warning for Heavy Showers and Thunderstorms in Multiple States

In Madhya Pradesh, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rainfall and the possibility of hailstorms.

IMD stated that Marathwada has received a lot of rain in the last 24 hours. Parbhani district’s Purna had the most rainfall, nine centimeters, followed by Manvat and Parbhani, each with eight centimeters. Additionally, seven centimeters of rain fell in each of the districts of Chandrapur (Gangapur) and Jalna (Jafrabad).

Significant precipitation has affected Madhya Maharashtra, according to an earlier IMD post. The district of Nandurbar’s Taloda got the most (15 cm), followed by Shahada in the Nandurbar district, Jamner in the Jalgaon district, Yaval in the Jalgaon district, and Nandurbar district (9 cm).

Numerous lightning strikes during extensive, unusual rainfall in Gujarat resulted in a devastating toll of 27 fatalities and damage to houses and crops. The event started early on Sunday and happened throughout the course of the whole day. Monday’s rain decreased, however, and some places had sporadic showers.

An ‘orange’ advisory was issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) for Madhya Pradesh, indicating the possibility of hailstorms, gusty winds (30–40 km/h), and isolated thunderstorms with lightning. Following rainfall, lightning strikes in Madhya Pradesh resulted in four fatalities and serious injuries to a youngster. According to meteorologist Ashfaq Hussain, rainfall in Madhya Pradesh was caused by a western disturbance that began to operate on Sunday. Another disturbance is predicted on November 30 and may bring with it colder temperatures and northern winds.
