Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Vettaiyan, which brings together legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth on screen after 30 years. At the grand audio launch event held in Chennai on Friday, Rajinikanth paid an emotional tribute to his co-star and friend, Amitabh Bachchan, sharing inspiring stories of the veteran actor’s resilience.
As reported by a leading portal, Rajinikanth recounted Bachchan’s financial struggles, highlighting how the Bollywood icon overcame immense difficulties through hard work and determination.Rajinikanth said, “When Amit ji was producing films, he broke into a big loss. He was not even able to pay his watchman. His Juhu home came into public bidding. The whole Bollywood was laughing at him… The world will just wait for your downfall. In three years, he did all the ads, Kaun Banega Crorepati earned all the money, and he bought back three homes along with the Juhu home on the same street. He is such an inspiration. He is 82 years old, and he is working for 10 hours a day.
”Rajinikanth also spoke about Amitabh’s strong family background, emphasizing his father’s literary fame, but noted that Amitabh rose to success without using any family influence.
“Amitabh ji’s father is a great writer. He could have done anything with the influence he had. But without family influence, he came into his career alone. Once Amitabh ji had a terrible accident. At that time, Indira Gandhi was abroad at a conference. When she heard about the accident, she immediately returned to India. Only then did everyone know that Rajiv Gandhi and Amitabh ji had studied together.”Vettaiyan marks Amitabh Bachchan’s Telugu debut and is Rajinikanth’s 170th film. The film is set for release in theatres on October 10, aligning with the Dussehra festival.
