The Indian superstar Rajinikanth recently went to Uttar Pradesh where he visited some cities and met some political leaders as well but his meeting with the UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath created a controversy.
While meeting CM Yogi Adityanath, Rajinikanth touched his feet to seek his blessing despite the fact that Rajinikanth is older to Yogi Adityanath as far as age is concerned. The photos and videos of the incident went viral soon, while there were some who slammed Rajinikanth for touching CM Yogi Adityanath’s feet, several others defended Rajinikanth by saying that he has touched the feet of CM Yogi Adityanath because of the spiritual role that he plays as the head of the Gorakhpur math.
During his UP visit, Rajinikanth also organized a special screening of his latest release Jailer which was attended by top ministers of the BJP government and he also met the Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.
After returning to Chennai, Rajinikanth reacted to the controversy and said, “It is my habit to touch the feet of Yogis or Sanyasis and take their blessings, even if they are younger than me. I have done that only.”
Hopefully things will get settled down now after Rajinikanth’s response.
