The Hema Committee report has brought to light serious issues in the Malayalam film industry, including sexual harassment, lack of basic facilities, gender bias, and pay disparities. These revelations, along with subsequent allegations of sexual assault, have left the industry and the nation in shock.
When superstar Rajinikanth was approached for his comments on the report, he looked a little confused, the incident occurred at the Chennai airport on Sunday.
As the reporters saw Rajinikanth, they gathered around his car, eager to ask about his upcoming film Coolie and other topics. While the actor willingly engaged in discussions on various subjects, he appeared completely unaware of the Hema Committee report and the turmoil it has caused in the Malayalam film industry.
When a reporter asked Rajinikanth about forming a committee to look into the exploitation that is taking place in Tamil Cinema, the superstar looked puzzled and asked to repeat the question. When the reporter gave the reference to the Hema Committee, Rajinikanth said, “I don’t know…I don’t know anything about that. Sorry,” with a smile.
