Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, opened to thunderous numbers during the Independence Day weekend. The action drama witnessed massive footfall in theatres, quickly becoming one of the most talked-about releases of the year. However, as the extended holiday period ended, the film began to show signs of a weekday slowdown.

Despite the dip, Coolie has already achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing the ₹200 crore mark in India within six days. Fans across the country continue to celebrate the film’s success, as it maintains a solid lead over Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR’s War 2, which released on the same day.

Coolie Box Office Day 6 Collection

According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Coolie earned around ₹9.50 crore on Tuesday, taking its total domestic collection to an impressive ₹216 crore by Day 6.

Opening Weekend Numbers

Coolie began its journey with a blockbuster ₹65 crore opening on Thursday, giving it a strong head start. Friday saw a slight dip of over 15%, collecting ₹54.75 crore, but the film still held strong. On Saturday, it earned ₹39.5 crore, followed by ₹35.25 crore on Sunday, showing a gradual decline but still pulling audiences in large numbers.

Monday, considered the real test for any film, saw Coolie collect ₹12 crore, a decent figure for a weekday. By Tuesday, although the earnings slipped further, the Rajinikanth-starrer managed to stay ahead of competition.

Coolie vs War 2

The clash between Coolie and War 2 has dominated box office discussions. While War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, performed well, it couldn’t keep up with Rajinikanth’s film. On Day 6, War 2 collected around ₹8.25 crore, taking its total to just above ₹190 crore. This means Coolie continues to lead the race.

Worldwide Collections

Globally, Coolie has already crossed the ₹400 crore mark, making it one of Rajinikanth’s highest-grossing films. However, it still has some distance to cover before matching the massive numbers of blockbusters like Saiyaara (₹324.75 crore net in India) and Chhaava (₹601.57 crore net in India).

With strong domestic numbers and a powerful global run, Coolie has reaffirmed Rajinikanth’s status as a box office king, while the Lokesh Kanagaraj-Rajinikanth combo looks set to deliver one of the year’s biggest hits.
