Rajkummar Rao recently talked about a tradition he acquired from his late mother. Rao is presently promoting his next movie Mr. & Mrs. Mahi. Kamal Yadav, Rajkummar’s mother, passed away in 2026. In an interview with Curly Tales, the actor disclosed that he keeps a fast every Friday, which he got the idea for from his late mother. “Every Friday, I observe a fast. My mother would take care of Santoshi Maa in this way. Since I was sixteen years old, I have followed her, and it has always been a part of my life.” Despite his busy schedule, Rajkummar tries to observe a fast in honour of his mother. He stated, “Sometimes, I do not eat any meals and sometimes, when I am working and I need to put in a lot of energy that day, I have one meal at night.”

Rajkummar posts about his late mother on a regular basis. The actor posted a picture from his wedding to Patralekhaa in 2021, in which he is seen sitting in front of a picture of his late mother and blowing her a kiss, on the anniversary of her death. The star shared the picture on social media and commented, “Maa, you will always be the best mother in the world. I am aware that I will always have your blessings. I miss you every day. I will always love you.”

Rajkummar previously shared a photo from his early years. In honour of his mother, he penned a lengthy message. “Maa, it’s been five years since you left us, but not a single day has passed that I haven’t felt your presence,” he wrote. Without your blessings, I could not have accomplished anything in this world, and I am confident that they are still with me. There is nothing in this world more valuable than a mother, and mothers are the best. I recognise you in all mothers.”

Rajkummar previously revealed an old picture of himself. He wrote a long note in memory of his mother. “Maa, it’s been five years since you left us, but not a single day has passed that I haven’t felt your presence,” she wrote. I could not have done anything in this world without your blessings, and I have no doubt that they are still with me. A mother is the most valuable person in the world, and mothers are the best. I see you in every mother.”
