Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has strongly criticized Telangana Minister Konda Surekha for her recent controversial comments involving Naga Chaitanya, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and KT Rama Rao (KTR). Surekha’s claims about political interference in the actors’ divorce sparked outrage, with RGV taking to X (formerly Twitter) to express his disapproval.
Ram Gopal Varma condemned Surekha for making such “vile” remarks, suggesting that they not only insulted KTR but also disrespected the Akkineni family, including Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya. He expressed shock at the minister’s comments, which he viewed as a deliberate attempt to drag a respected family into a political vendetta.
“I was shocked by Konda Surekha’s comments which insulted Nagarjuna’s family in the most horrible way. Dragging the most respected Nagarjuna family on the road in the middle of taking revenge on her political rival should not be tolerated,” Ram Gopal Varma shared, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
He further criticized Surekha for making such claims in the media without any evidence or firsthand knowledge. Varma called for strong action, stating, “Such vile speech against a dignified family like Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya, and a great actress like Samantha, who is the pride of the industry, should be strongly condemned.”
In his post, Varma urged Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to intervene and issue a strong warning to prevent similar incidents in the future. He also reacted to Surekha’s apology to Samantha, noting that it did not undo the damage caused to the Akkineni family’s reputation.
