Ramayana: Mukesh Chhabra Discloses Why They Chose Ranbir Kapoor To Play Lord Rama

The Bollywood actor, Ranbir Kapoor is currently shooting for the upcoming mythological drama Ramayana. Although an official announcement is yet to be made, filming for the project has already begun. Ranbir will portray Lord Rama, while Sai Pallavi will take on the role of Sita in this film directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Recently, casting director Mukesh Chhabra discussed why Animal star, Ranbir was chosen for the role of Lord Rama.

Mukesh Chhabra said, “Uske chehre pe calmness hai, woh toh chahiye thi na…Nitesh (Tiwari) ne bahot pehle hi soch lia tha unko. Ye bahot sahi decision hai. Wo aapko maloom chalega film aane ke baad. (He has a calmness on his face. It was needed for the film. Nitesh Tiwari thought about casting him quite earlier. It is a great decision and the audience will realize after watching the film).”

To maintain secrecy around the shoot of Ramayana, the filmmakers have taken special precautions. Under the guidance of producer Namit Malhotra, they’ve decided to enclose the sets completely and shoot indoors, minimizing the risk of any unauthorized images leaking. “The producers were keen to keep the film’s look under wraps until an official announcement,” a source revealed. Despite implementing strict measures, including a no-phone policy on set, some images of Ranbir and Sai Pallavi’s costumes were still captured by photographers. In response, curtains have been erected around the set, and security has been tightened further to prevent additional leaks. The source also mentioned that the working title for Ramayana is “God Power.”
