Randeep Hooda is certainly one of the most versatile actors of the industry and currently he is gearing up for the release of his next movie, Swatantra Veer Savarkar which is based on the life of Indian freedom fighter Veer Savarkar.
Swatantra Veer Savarkar is slated to release on 22 March 2024 and actress Ankita Lokhande is also a part of the movie as she has played the character of Veer Savarkar’s wife, Yamunabai. However, Randeep Hooda was not interested in casting Ankita for this role initially and the actress revealed it during an event.
Ankita Lokhande stated, “He told me, ‘I don’t think I want you in the film’. I was like, why? He was like, ‘You are too pretty for the character (Yamunabai Savarkar)’. I was like, ‘Please don’t say that’.”
Randeep Hooda has not just acted in the movie but he has directed the film too and has written the movie along with Utkarsh Naithani as well.
Randeep Hooda made the announcement regarding the movie in March 2022 and at that time, he stated, “There are many heroes that have played their part in getting us our independence. However, not everyone has gotten their due. Vinayak Damodar Savarkar is the most misunderstood, debated, and influential of these unsung heroes, and his story must be told. I am delighted to collaborate with Sandeep after ‘Sarabjit’, for Swatantra Veer Savarkar. It will be yet another challenging role to portray.”
