Rankings Don’t Matter: Sourav Ganguly On Mega Clash Of India & Pakistan

The cricket fans of India and Pakistan are quite excited as both the teams will play against each other in the Asia Cup 2023 and then in the World Cup 2023. In both the tournaments, 50-overs matches will be played and this will be the first time that Pakistan will play an ODI against India under the leadership of Babar Azam.

There are good chances that India and Pakistan may face each other three times in the Asia Cup and it will set the tone for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 which will start from 5 October.

Though Pakistan is on number 2 ranking as of now and India is on rank 3, former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly feels that rankings don’t matter, what matters is how the teams play on the given day.

In his words, “Rankings don’t matter, who plays well on that day matters.” He further says that both the teams are strong and the team which will play better will win the match.

While talking about the Pakistani team, he said, “They are a very good side. They have a very good bowling attack — Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf. They are a very balanced team. India is a strong side. It’s how you play on that particular day; there is no rocket science to it.”

All the best to the Indian team, hopefully India will play better on that day.
