There is no denying the fact that technology is a boon if used properly and it is a bane if used in a wrong manner and the horrific cases and instances which we are coming across due to Artificial intelligence have become a matter of great concern especially in regard to women.
Recently a deepfake video of actress Rashmika Mandanna went viral in which her face has been used on the body of another girl and it is really difficult to make out that it is a fake video. The Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has demanded a legal action in this regard and now the girl who is in the video has also reacted to it.
The name of the girl is Zara Patel and she is a British influencer by profession. She took to her Instagram and made it clear that she has no involvement in this act, in fact she is deeply disturbed and upset with whatever has happened.
She wrote,
“Hi all, it has come to my attention that someone created a deepfake video using my body and a popular Bollywood actress’ face. I had no involvement with the deepfake video and I’m deeply disturbed and upset by what is happening. I worry about the future of women and girls who now have to fear even more about putting themselves on social media. Please take a step back and fact-check what you see on the internet. Not everything on the internet is real.”
