A three-way partnership between Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Brookfield Infrastructure Partners Lp, and Digital Realty Trust Inc. has been formed to build up special purpose vehicles (SPVs) aimed at establishing server farms in India. According to a statement released jointly by the three partners, RIL will own 33.33% of the SPVs. With more than 300 data centers spread across 27 countries, Digital Realty Trust is the largest international provider of cloud and carrier-neutral data center, co-area, and interconnection solutions.
To address the fundamental foundation requirements of Indian businesses and digital services organizations, it has a joint venture (JV) with Brookfield Infrastructure that is expanding great, extremely associated, adaptable data centers. RIL will become a comparable partner in the JV. ‘Digital Connexion: A Brookfield, Jio, and Digital Realty Company’ will be written on the JV’s label.
The JV is currently building data centers at prominent locations in Chennai and Mumbai. On a 100 MW site in Chennai, the JV’s first 20 MW greenfield data centers (MAA10) are scheduled to be built by the end of 2023.
The JV recently announced that it has purchased 2.15 acres of land in Mumbai to build a 40 MW server farm. Given the location of these sites, the data centers will be connected to fundamental earthbound network infrastructure as well as underwater linkages and serve as hubs for global availability for Indian organizations as well as entrance points into India for foreign companies.
India is expected to have more data centers in the next few years. Indians are the world’s largest and most diversified information consumers.
With increasing access to gaming, OTT, and 5G, this will improve overall. Businesses that accept 5G use cases will adopt data-intensive technologies like IoT and AI.
