Actress Rimi Sen who is known for her work in movies such as Dhoom, Hungama, etc. has filed a lawsuit against luxury car manufacturer Land Rover, seeking ₹50 crore in damages due to alleged defects in her vehicle and the subsequent mental harassment she claims to have endured. The issues reportedly involve the car’s sunroof, sound system and rear-end camera.
Rimi purchased the vehicle in 2020 for ₹92 lakh but has since encountered several problems, leading her to accuse the company of negligence and causing emotional distress. The actress alleges that the car’s defects, combined with the company’s handling of repairs, have caused her significant mental anguish, compelling her to take legal action.
As per reports, Rimi bought the car from Satish Motors Pvt. Ltd., an authorized Jaguar Land Rover dealer, with a warranty valid until January 2023. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns, the vehicle was not used extensively during that period. However, when she started using it regularly, she encountered multiple issues, including a noisy sunroof, screen lags, a faulty sound system and problems with the rear-end camera.
Rimi is now demanding ₹50 crore in compensation for the mental harassment she has faced, along with an additional ₹10 lakh to cover legal expenses. She also wants the replacement of the defective vehicle.
