Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team will start their T20 World Cup campaign on 5 June with their first match being played against Ireland and then they will face arch-rivals Pakistan on 9 June.
India is in Group A along with Pakistan, USA, Ireland and Canada and India is being considered as the favourites by many to win the T20 World Cup as it’s a strong team and had a good preparation by playing in the recently concluded IPL 2024.
While there are many former cricketers and experts who strongly feel that the Indian team will be among the top four of the tournament, the young Indian cricketer Riyan Parag refused to tell his top four and also denied watching the T20 World Cup matches.
Riyan Parag stated, “It will be a biased answer (prediction on top four teams) but to be very honest I don’t even want to watch the World Cup. I’ll just see who is winning it at the end and I’ll be happy. When I will play the World Cup, I will think about top four and all of that.”
