Robbers Meet Resistance from UP Cops in Amethi, Legs Injured in Shootout!

Following a firefight in which both suspects were shot in the leg and one of the suspects wounded a sub-inspector in the hand, two suspected robbers were taken into custody in an Amethi hamlet, police said on Monday.

According to Additional Superintendent of Police Harendra Kumar, the two guys were wanted in relation to a robbery that happened on December 30 in the Amethi area, close to Tikri, for ₹ 4 lakh.

A squad was dispatched to catch the two criminals after police received a tip on Sunday night that they had been spotted close to Ghorha village. Sub-Inspector Shiv Baksh Singh was hurt when the accused criminals opened fire on the police after they saw they were encircled by officers, according to Kumar. Police opened fire again, striking both of their legs before taking them into custody.

The police, the two were found in possession of 3.50 lakh in cash, a motorbike, a handgun manufactured in the nation, and few ammunition. According to him, the suspects were admitted to an Amethi community health center for medical care.
