Rohit Sharma creates history after scoring a century in the Nagpur Test

After ODIs, Indian captain and hitman Rohit Sharma has back to form in Test cricket. In the Nagpur Test, he struck his 43rd international century.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma opened the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 against Australia with a magnificent century. In the Nagpur Test, the Kangaroos were bowled out after only 177 runs. With Rohit’s century, Team India has tightened its grip on the contest. Rohit Sharma struck his century in 171 balls, with 14 fours and two sixes. With this century, Hitman also left Australia’s best player Steve Smith in the dust. Not only that, but the Indian captain accomplished something that no other captain had ever done for India.

Actually, this is Rohit Sharma’s ninth century in Test cricket, but it is his 43rd century in international cricket. In this situation, Rohit has now surpassed veterans such as Chris Gayle and Sanath Jayasuriya, as well as Steve Smith, who has 42 international hundreds. The Indian skipper also has 30 ODI hundreds, making him the second most prolific Indian batsman behind Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. At the same time, this marks Rohit Sharma’s maiden century in Border Gavaskar Trophy history. At the same time, he became the first Indian skipper to hit a century as captain in all three forms. No one could accomplish it before him, from Virat Kohli to MS Dhoni.

Rohit Sharma has demonstrated a return to form by striking a century in the ODI series against New Zealand. Even in Test cricket, Hitman has issued a warning to the globe. Rohit Sharma is captaining for the first time in the Border Gavaskar Trophy and has already made a century.

In the recent Nagpur Test, Team India lost five wickets on the second day before Rohit Sharma’s century. However, the team outscored Australia and grabbed the lead. After winning the toss, the Australian side was restricted to 177 runs in the first innings. Ravindra Jadeja of India grabbed five wickets, while Ravichandran Ashwin took three. The Indian team’s focus will undoubtedly be on a lead of at least 150 runs.

Along with Rohit, Jadeja and future batters KS Bharat and Akshar Patel will bear the burden. Australian batting was a disaster, but newcomer Todd Murphy shone with his bowling, claiming four early wickets.
