The Indian cricket entered a new phase with the Sri Lanka tour as it is the first assignment of Gautam Gambhir as the head coach and it won’t be wrong to say that the Indian team made a great start.
As Rohit Sharma took retirement from the T20I format after winning the T20I World Cup 2024, Suryakumar Yadav has been appointed as the new skipper of the T20I team and India has whitewashed the 3-match T20I series against Sri Lanka.
Yesterday, the third T20I match between India and Sri Lanka went into Super over and the visitors managed to clinch victory as they put up a superb performance even under pressure.
The former T20 skipper Rohit Sharma praised the Indian team’s performance as he took to X and wrote, “Perfect start, well done team”.

After the match, SKY stated, “More than the last over, I feel when we were around 30-4, how the boys showed character, 140 was a par score on that track.”
He added, “I told, if we put our heart in, we could pull it off. The amount of skill they have, self-confidence, it makes my job easy. The positivity, the care for each other is unbelievable.”
Now India and Sri Lanka will play a 3-match ODI series from August 2 and senior cricketers Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be returning in the team for the series.
