Following their defeat in the pink-ball Test against Australia at Adelaide Oval, Team India ramped up their practice sessions ahead of the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Brisbane’s Gabba. The team, led by Rohit Sharma, responded to legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar’s advice to continue practicing even after the match ended early.
Despite losing the Adelaide Test inside three days by 10 wickets, Team India used the extra time for an intensive training session at Adelaide Oval. On Tuesday, players including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Yashasvi Jaiswal were spotted sharpening their batting techniques.
Veteran spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja also focused on refining their bowling strategies. The session reflected the team’s determination to bounce back in the series, which now stands level at 1-1.
After the heavy defeat, Gavaskar had urged the team to avoid idling in their hotel rooms and use the available time to work on their skills. His advice seemed to resonate with the players, as they embraced the opportunity to regroup and prepare for the challenges ahead.
The upcoming Test at The Gabba will be pivotal in determining the momentum of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. With both teams tied in the series, India will be looking to turn the tide and take the lead against the hosts on their home turf.
