The young Indian cricketer Ruturaj Gaikwad is one of the most talented cricketers of the present times and his leadership skills will be tested in Asian Games as he will be leading the relatively less-experienced team in this tournament. He is an integral part of the IPL team Chennai Super Kings and he has surely learnt a lot while playing under MS Dhoni.
Ruturaj Gaikwad is currently in Ireland where India is playing the 3-match T20I series. As of now India is leading by 2-0 and in the second T20I between India and Ireland, Ruturaj played a superb knock of 58 runs and helped his team in winning the match by 33 runs.
After the match, while talking to reporters, Ruturaj Gaikwad opened up on the impact that MS Dhoni has on him. He said, “I think leadership role is a very complicated thing to be honest. What Mahi bhai always says is to take it one game at a time. Just be in the present moment, don’t worry about the future. Everyone creates hype and whatever it is. I am not the kind of person who do really watch social media and hear things about what anyone is saying about me. I think this is one of the traits that I have learned at CSK. I am pretty much clear about giving my best in the field, coming back home, chilling with my friends.”
The third and the final T20I between India and Ireland will be played on 23 August at the same venue on which the first two matches have been played – The Village, Malahide.
All the best to Ruturaj Gaikwad for leading the team in Asian Games!
