Gangster Sachin Thapan Bishnoi, who took credit for singer Sidhu Moosewala’s death, wasn’t running from the law when he landed in Baku, Azerbaijan, last May; rather, he was on a dangerous task.
His plan, according to individuals in the security establishment who spoke to reported, was to race 216 km to Armenia via the Lachin corridor in order to kill Lucky Patial, the leader of the rival Bambiha gang, and then quickly return to the base in Baku before heading to Serbia.
But as reports have learned, Sachin’s luck ran out when the Delhi Police Special Cell, which had been following him since his March 2022 escape to Dubai, located him in Baku and quickly started the extradition process, foiling his assassination attempt.
An intelligence setup source claimed that Sachin Bishnoi had planned every detail of the assassination of Patial.
“In connection with the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, the stage was set, arrangements were made, and all he had to do was carry out the act,” the source claimed. However, before he could do so, he was located, detained, and returned to India.
According to the source, Sachin divulged this data when being questioned. An insider said that in May 2022, Sachin used a fictitious passport to escape to Dubai. He shot a builder in Dwarka in March last year after the man refused to give the extortion money of Rs 1 crore. When the authorities began pursuing him, he got a phony passport and escaped to Dubai.
By tracking Sachin Bishnoi’s online activities, Delhi Police and intelligence services were able to locate him in Baku using IPDR (Internet Protocol Details Record) analysis. After being located, Interpol, working with the Central Bureau of Investigation, issued a red notice. After almost a year of legal hurdles, a Delhi police squad brought Sachin back to India.
