When Sachin Tendulkar was14 yrs old, he was a little upset because he was not getting the Best junior cricketer award from Mumbai Cricket Association and in order to console him, the legendary former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar gifted him the ultra-light pads.
These ultra-light pads meant a lot for Sachin Tendulkar as he wore them on his big debut day and on Sunil Gavaskar’s 74th birthday which he is celebrating today (10 July 2023), Sachin Tendulkar made a special post for his idol. He tweeted, “Happy birthday to my batting idol, the man we all wanted to bat like while growing up. Happy birthday, Gavaskar sir!”
