The English cricketer Stuart Broad left everyone in a shocked state when he announced that the fifth test match of the Ashes series will be his last test match for England and luckily for him, his career ended on a winning note as England defeated Australia by 49 runs.
Many of us may remember Stuart Broad because of the six sixes that Yuvraj Singh smashed in his one over during a match of the 2007 T20 World Cup but in the present times, he is one of the best pacers of the world.
In his illustrious career of 17 years, Stuart Broad has taken more than 600 wickets in test cricket and he is the fourth bowler to do that. Stuart Broad is the second pacer of the world to touch this mark and he is England’s second bowler after James Anderson to achieve this feat. He also made a unique record in his last match as he smashed a six on the last ball that he played and he also took a wicket on the last ball that he bowled.
The whole cricket fraternity and cricket fans offered their best wishes to Stuart Broad but the one that garnered the most attention was from the legendary former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar who tweeted, “A phenomenal career draws to a close. @StuartBroad8, your relentless spells and unwavering dedication will forever be etched in cricket’s annals. A fitting end to your career. Enjoy the next innings!”
