Saif Ali Khan is all set to return to the screen with Jewel Thief, Netflix’s upcoming heist thriller that marks his first release following the shocking knife attack at his Mumbai residence. Playing a suave, mysterious thief tasked with stealing one of the world’s most prized diamonds, Saif’s character leads the action in a story packed with tension, twists, and globe-trotting adventure.

As the cast ramps up promotional duties, co-stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Kunal Kapoor, and Nikita Dutta recently came together for an interview, and what began as a discussion about their filming journey quickly transformed into a laughter-filled banter—thanks in large part to Kunal Kapoor’s playful jabs.

Jaideep and Nikita fondly recounted the camaraderie they shared on set, but Kunal had his own hilarious version of events. “Loneliness because I am not with them in the film, I am chasing them so I was alone on the set. These people would enjoy together,” he joked, painting a vivid contrast to the cheerful stories being shared.

The laughs didn’t stop there. When asked about working with Saif Ali Khan, Kunal teased, “He is a pain. It was difficult to work with him. He didn’t turn up on time and when he did, he didn’t know his line and then we had to wait till he learned his lines. Then take after take.” The cast burst out laughing, with the added joke that since Saif isn’t active on social media, he wouldn’t catch wind of the teasing—unless, of course, it made it to the headlines.

Directed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal, and written by Sumit Aroraa, Jewel Thief unfolds across striking locations like Budapest, Istanbul, and Mumbai. Jaideep plays Aulak, a diamond-obsessed tycoon who hires Saif’s elusive thief to steal the rare Red Sun gem. Kunal Kapoor steps in as the determined officer on the thief’s trail, while Nikita Dutta’s character—Aulak’s wife—hints at a layered past with the very man hired to rob him.

Set to premiere on Netflix on April 25, Jewel Thief promises not just adrenaline and intrigue, but a cast dynamic that’s just as entertaining off-screen as it is on.
